Is Berrytap cheaper than Gumroad?

At the very start they're close — Gumroad takes 10% + 50¢ a sale with no monthly fee, and Berrytap's Free plan takes 10% with none either. The difference shows up as you grow: our fee drops to 5% on a $29 plan and to 0% on Scale, while Gumroad's stays at 10% no matter how much you sell.

Can I still sell a one-off product?

Yes — a course or piece of content can be priced for one-time purchase with lifetime access, alongside or instead of a monthly membership.

What about Gumroad's marketplace traffic?

That's the real trade. Gumroad Discover can put you in front of buyers you didn't bring, and it charges 30% for it. Berrytap has a Discover listing for communities on paid plans, but you should assume you're bringing your own audience.

Through your own connected Stripe account. Stripe pays you on its normal schedule and the platform fee comes off each payment, rather than money sitting in a platform balance until a payout run.
