Sell Premium Courses with One-Time Payments on Berrytap
Charge a one-time fee for premium courses, grant buyers lifetime access, and track course sale earnings alongside your membership revenue.
Paid courses let you offer premium content as a standalone purchase — separate from, or on top of, your membership subscription. You set the price, members pay once, and they keep access forever. It's a powerful way to diversify your revenue while keeping your core community accessible.
Free vs. paid courses
By default, every published course is included in membership — meaning any active member can access it at no extra charge as part of their subscription.
A paid course works differently: you set a one-time price, and members must purchase the course individually to unlock it. Payment is a separate transaction on top of (or instead of) their membership subscription. Members who haven't purchased a paid course can still see it listed in the course library, but the lessons remain locked until they complete checkout.
Use paid courses to offer deep-dive, high-value content — like a full workshop series or a step-by-step certification program — while keeping your membership price lower and accessible. This lets you attract a broader audience and then upsell the members who want to go deeper.
Setting a course price
Open course settings
Go to Dashboard → Courses, select the course you want to price, and open Settings.
Switch to Paid
Under Access, toggle the course from Included in membership to Paid.
Enter a price
Set your price in MNT (for Mongolian members) or USD (for global members), depending on your community's currency settings.
Save and publish
Save the settings. Members who haven't purchased will now see the course locked in their library with your price displayed.
Purchasing a course
When a member clicks on a paid course in the library, they see the course description, a preview (if you've set one), and the price. To unlock the course, they click Purchase and complete checkout:
- QPay — available for Mongolian members paying in MNT.
- Card (Stripe) — available for global members paying in USD.
Access is granted immediately after the payment is confirmed. The member is taken directly into the course and can start the first lesson right away.
Lifetime access
Once a member purchases a paid course, their access is permanent. They retain full access to every lesson, video, and resource in that course — even if they later cancel their membership subscription. Course purchases and membership subscriptions are independent, so canceling one does not affect the other.
Earnings from course sales
Payments from paid course purchases flow through the same wallet as your membership revenue. The standard platform fee applies to course sales the same way it applies to subscriptions.
In your Wallet dashboard, you can filter earnings by source. Look for the Courses source to see a breakdown of how much revenue came from one-time course purchases versus recurring membership payments. Payouts follow your normal payout schedule.
