Go Live on Berrytap: Start and Manage Your Live Rooms

Learn how to start a live room, manage your session, and understand usage limits so you can broadcast confidently to your community.

Live rooms let you connect with your community in real time — whether you want an intimate group call or a polished webinar-style broadcast. This page walks you through starting a session, ending it cleanly, and understanding the usage limits that apply to your plan.

Starting a live room

Click Go Live

From your creator dashboard or your community page, click the Go Live button.

Choose a room type

Select either Call or Webinar depending on the experience you want to deliver. Not sure which to pick? See Calls & Webinars.

Your live room opens

Berrytap launches your live room immediately. Every community member receives an in-app notification and an email letting them know you are live.

Members join

Members can join by clicking the notification they received or the live banner that appears inside your community page.

Ending a session

When you are ready to wrap up, click the End button inside the live room. This closes the session for all participants at the same time. Always end your session explicitly rather than simply closing your browser tab — see the warning below for why this matters.

If you close your browser tab without clicking End, the session does not stop immediately. It will auto-close after a period of inactivity, but your live-hours usage keeps accumulating until that happens. To avoid burning through your monthly allowance unintentionally, always end the session using the End button before you close your browser.

Live usage limits

Your plan determines how many hours you can broadcast each month and how many attendees can be in the room at the same time.

PlanLive hours per monthMax attendees
Free2 hrs20
Growth20 hrs200
ScaleUnlimitedUnlimited

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Monthly reset — your live-hours allowance resets on the 1st of each calendar month.
  • 80% warning — Berrytap shows a warning inside your dashboard when you have used 80% of your monthly hours. Once you reach 100%, going live is blocked until the next reset.
  • Creator access — you are always admitted to your own live room, even if the attendee cap has been reached by members.

Notifications

Every time you go live, Berrytap automatically sends every community member both an in-app notification and an email. You do not need to announce the session separately. This makes live rooms one of the most effective tools for re-engaging members who have been less active — a single "going live" moment can bring a surge of traffic and interaction back to your community.
