Berrytap offers three plans designed to grow with you — start for free while you find your audience, then upgrade as your revenue scales. Every plan gives you full access to communities, courses, and live rooms; the differences come down to platform fee, member limits, usage caps, and whether your community appears in the public Discover marketplace.

When does upgrading make financial sense? On the global pricing:
- Growth beats Free once your member revenue exceeds roughly **$580/mo** (the 5% fee on Growth earns back its $29 cost compared with a 10% fee on Free).
- Scale beats Growth above roughly **$5,400/mo** in member revenue (the 0% fee on Scale earns back its $299 cost compared with 5% on Growth).
For Mongolia: Growth beats Free above ~₮1,000,000/mo; Scale beats Growth above ~₮9,000,000/mo.
How the platform fee works
The platform fee is a percentage taken only from payments you actually collect — membership subscriptions, one-time access purchases, and course sales. It is never charged on free memberships or on money that never passes through your community.
The fee is snapshotted at the moment of each payment, based on the plan you're on at that time. If you switch plans mid-month, older payments are not recalculated — your historical earnings stay exactly as recorded. On the Scale plan (0%), Berrytap takes nothing; you keep the full amount of every payment your members make.
Free plan rules
The Free plan is designed to let any creator launch without financial risk:
- No card required at signup or at any point while you stay on Free.
- Free communities never appear in Discover — your community is Unlisted and reachable only via direct link. Upgrade to Growth or Scale to get public marketplace visibility.
- 25-member hard cap — once your community reaches 25 members, new members cannot join until you upgrade. Importantly, if you downgrade from a paid plan back to Free, existing members are not removed; the cap only applies to new joins going forward.
- Usage caps are real infrastructure limits. Stored video (1 hr) and live sessions (2 hrs/month) are enforced at the platform level. The caps exist to keep Berrytap's costs sustainable so the free tier can remain genuinely free.
Founding creator offer
The first ~20 creators per market to launch a paid community on Berrytap receive the platform fee waived for 90 days, regardless of which plan they're on. You keep 100% of member revenue during that window — Berrytap takes nothing.
After 90 days, the standard fee for your active plan applies automatically. Usage limits (video storage, live hours, attendee caps) are not waived under this offer; they remain in effect as normal.
Mongolia vs. global pricing
Berrytap uses the same feature set, fee percentages, and usage limits worldwide — only the flat plan prices differ, set lower in Mongolia to match local affordability. The currency and pricing region are determined by the country you choose when you create your community, and this cannot be changed afterwards. Both pricing tracks receive the same product updates, support, and Founding Creator offer.
Frequently asked questions
Do I pay the platform fee on free memberships?
No. The platform fee only applies to payments you collect from members. If a member joins your community for free — whether because you've set your community to Free or because you issued a free coupon — no fee is charged, because no money changed hands.
What happens if I downgrade from Growth to Free?
When you downgrade to Free, three things happen immediately:
- Member cap is enforced for new joins — once you reach 25 members, the community is closed to new joiners until you upgrade again.
- Existing members are not removed — anyone already in your community stays, even if the total count exceeds 25.
- Public visibility is revoked — your community is removed from the Discover marketplace and moves back to Unlisted (direct link only).
Your content, posts, and courses remain fully intact.
Can I change my plan at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Plan. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period so you always get the full value of what you've already paid for.
