Payment Methods Available Across Berrytap Communities
Discover which payment methods Berrytap supports, how QPay and Stripe are used by region, and what your members experience at checkout.
Berrytap supports two payment rails depending on where your community is registered. Mongolian communities use QPay and card checkout, while communities registered in any other country use Stripe's card infrastructure. The right method is assigned automatically — you and your members never need to choose manually.
QPay (Mongolia)
Communities registered in Mongolia process payments through QPay and Berrytap's payment processor.
- Members can pay using the QPay QR code checkout, which is supported by all major Mongolian banks via their mobile apps.
- Members can also pay by card through Berrytap's payment processor.
- All payments are denominated in tögrög (MNT).
- Funds are settled and held in your Berrytap wallet until you request a payout.
Card payments (global)
Communities registered outside Mongolia process payments through Stripe.
- Members pay by credit or debit card from anywhere in the world.
- All payments are denominated in USD.
- Stripe pays you directly to your connected Stripe account — Berrytap never holds your funds.
Berrytap never stores card details. All card payments are handled entirely by Stripe, which is a certified PCI-compliant payment processor. Your members' card data is protected by Stripe's security infrastructure.
Which method does my community use?
Your payment method is determined by the country you selected when you created your community. There are two possible configurations:

The payment model cannot be changed after your community is created. If you need a different payment configuration, you would need to create a new community with the correct country setting.
For members
Members see the checkout experience that matches their community's payment model — this happens automatically. A member joining a Mongolian community sees the QPay QR code and card option; a member joining a global community sees a standard card checkout powered by Stripe.
Members do not need a Berrytap account to determine which payment method is available — the checkout is determined entirely by the community's configuration.
Both models support card payments. QPay adds a QR code checkout option on top of card support, making it convenient for members who use Mongolian bank apps.
